Handmade Navajo Weaving Comb #8
I had these weaving combs specially made for weavers or collectors who want a little something extra on a handmade Navajo weaving comb. These are made of oak. As a Navajo weaver, I want to pay tribute to Navajos who herd sheep and the sheep for providing us with Navajo wool to weave with! The image on these combs is an abstracted Navajo Churro 4-horned ram. The execution is all done by hand. I waited a few weeks for these to be completed. I now offer them to you to use in Navajo rug weaving or for display. Quantity: 2. L=9″ W=2.5″ approx.
I did some shopping on the Navajo Reservation this weekend. I purchased some weaving tools and some sort of weaving tools to share with you. I encountered some surprising news that one of my favorite silversmiths is going to eventually quit making her beautiful cluster work. This showed me I need to buy items if they catch my fancy. If I don’t, I probably will not find these items later or at a much higher price!
Please keep in mind these weaving tools and weaving comb pins are not always readily available. Remember there is demand for these items from around the globe. This is a global economy. I know you know this, but sometimes we forget.
Please contact me if you have any questions about the following list of weavings and weaving comb pins. Notice off to the left the photo of my weaving bag with a miniature Navajo weaving comb pin and the natural Sleeping Beauty turquoise cluster pin by one of my favorite silversmiths. Isn’t she a beauty?
