Unique Navajo Weaving Comb

I shop and search for authentic unique Navajo handmade weaving combs.  Afterall, if it’s not authenticly Navajo handmade, then why bother?  Navajo weaving involves more than sitting at a traditional vertical Navajo loom.  People forget it takes time to herd sheep, shear sheep in the spring, the lambing season in the spring, and moving the flocks from spring sheepcamp to winter sheepcamp & vice versa.  Then there’s the washing, carding, handspinning and hand-dyeing of the wool. Making weaving tools is another aspect of the laborious process.

Time constraints and the modern economy has given some people license to take shortcuts or buy Navajo weaving supplies & tools from non-Navajos.  As a weaver, jeweler and collector, I prefer to buy handmade Navajo weaving supplies and jewelry.  I hope you will support buying handmade Navajo weaving supplies and weaving tools.  I support Navajo artisans and I hope you consider doing the same.

Here’s my latest find for truly unique Navajo weaving combs.  You will not find this type of handmade Navajo weaving comb anywhere else!  Please contact me if you have any questions.  Thank you for your interest in my work and my updates!

Navajo Handmade Oak Weaving Comb with Heart

This Navajo weaving comb is handmade from oak.  The pointed tip of this comb has a handcarved heart at the tip.  I have Purpleheart wood Navajo weaving combs available on this site, but this one is the first I’ve seen in oak with a heart near the pointed tip. It is finished with a clear laquer/varnish.  L=8.5″, W=1.75″.

Price: $32 plus $8 shipping in the U.S.
